Mondays Finish the Story: Abandoned

2015-01-19-bw-beachamContinued from last week’s story…

They finally made their escape. As Lena gently eased her foot on the brakes and pulled the car to the side of the road, Elaine rested her head on the headrest. Lena shifted the car to park and both of them closed their eyes and exhaled a breath at the same time.

“Who would’ve known being a mom can be so scary?” Elaine said.

A week ago, after they took Johan home, they discovered that Johan was a young boy banished to Earth all because the leader of his planet thought he wasn’t intelligent enough. “Mama, dada,” were his first words. He looked about 25 but it turned out he couldn’t be more than 3 or 4.

Since then, Johan had been growing rapidly. The worst things were he likes to chew couches and he runs mighty fast. It was like raising a 6-foot baby. By Wednesday, Lena and Elaine couldn’t take it anymore. Their couches were filled with holes and almost all their stuff were broken. “That’s it!” Lena declared. “We’re going on a road-trip.”

They drove to Yosemite National Park and watched the waterfall. Then when Johan was unaware, the sisters hopped back to their car and drove away as fast as they could.

To be continued in the next part

Each week, Mondays Finish the Story challenges our minds by providing with a picture along with the first sentence for us to finish the flash fiction with 100 -150 words based on the picture above. Escape? What escape? Of course!

  1. I’m so glad none of my babies ever chewed couches! And six foot . . . wow! It’s no wonder the sisters were desperate to get rid of him. You have continued the story from the last episode really well. Now, I’m wondering what will happen next. Great read.

  2. A 6″ baby – eek! I can see why Lena and Elaine abandoned him. Though I can’t help but feel sorry for poor Johan, all alone in Yosemite National Park. 🙂 Good continuation of last week’s story!

  3. Oh no, they can’t just leave him there! He’ll grow up all wild and whatnot, in the future there’ll be sightings of a strange wild “thing” in the woods, just a glimpse…
