Monday’s Finish the Story: The Fugitive

2015-03-09-bw-beachamContinuation of this story

“On March 9th, 2015, three objects were reportedly seen in the skies over the Borracho Todos los Tiempos Vineyards.” Gregory read to Johan over breakfast.

Although Johan had already matured to his age, he still doesn’t know how to speak or read. Most of the time, he just communicated with Gregory over hand-gestures and charades.

Unconsciously, Gregory scratched the banana-shaped scar on his left-cheek, something he acquired over a month ago escaping from Diamond Jack’s prison. Johan snatched the paper from Gregory and examined the photograph. His eyes bulged and hit the image with his finger. He whimpered.

“What is it?” Gregory frowned. Johan whimpered loudly and desperately pointed at the ceiling. Gregory sighed. “Okay, the planes,” Johan pointed at himself, “you?” Johan shook his head and started over. He pointed at the ceiling and then formed two circles before his eyes. “The planes are looking for you.” Gregory shouted excitedly and frowned. “But why?”

Johan shot up a finger, telling him to wait. The next second, Gregory almost fell out of his seat. Johan was smiling widely as two antennas rose from his head.

Each week, Mondays Finish the Story challenges our minds by providing with a picture along with the first sentence for us to finish the flash fiction with 100 -150 words based on the picture above. I’m about 15 words over this week but I think it’s worth it. I was laughing my head off while writing this.

  1. Great story, Yinglan! I love Johan’s antenna. 🙂 Is he going to be meeting some of his race soon? Will he choose to go with them back to their home planet or will he stay on Earth with Gregory? This promises some more good stories to come!
