Friday Fictioneers: Silly Giant Tale

“Nah, giants don’t exist.”

Bash shakes his head. “You’re just like all the other people so enough talking, I will show you. Come with me.”

The brothers walk along the shore, now and then trudging through knee-height water. Soon, they arrive at the most remote part of the island. “See that, that’s your evidence.” Bash points to the giant chain.

Abe shakes his head. “That’s not for giants, dumb-ass. This is an art-piece to commemorate the discovery of the island. The ship almost crashed because the captain threw the anchor too far and broke the anchor.”

“Oh,” Bash replies disappointingly, “Oh,” he repeats with realization.

  1. this was funny and a bit sad at the same time, funny how abe delivered the dream shattering revelation, and sad because poor bash had his little bubble bursted and his dream crushed. I liked it 🙂

  2. Oh, poor Bash, his story was so much fun. Abe should listen to his brother, they could have had great adventures looking for these giants. What a fun read!

  3. Nice story. Let’s hope he can hold onto enough of his fantasies to grow up into a person who can imagine – we don’t want too many realists among us. Who would write all the stories then?
