Mr. Director was sincerely frustrated. He did not understand why Miss Singer had such a ridiculous request. “No one’s face should appear on screen.”
What kind of a ridiculous request is that? Mr. Director wondered. “But Miss Singer,” he pleaded, “how is it possible to hide so many faces on camera?”
Miss Singer spun around, Mr. Director took a step back, horrified by the length Miss Singer was willing to go to hide her face. Her face was covered in some kind of cream and hair wrapped in a pink cloth. “That is for you to figure out.” She shrieked and slammed the door in his face.
How does she keep it up? Mr. Director wondered because no one, not even Miss Singer’s manager had ever seen her face before.
He wandered around the studio, reviewing the scenes in his head while deciding how to shoot them so that no one’s face would appear on camera. He wandered to the Commissary where he purchased a slice of cake. As he ran his credit card down the reader, an idea came to him like lightning. He grabbed the cake and raced back to the set. “Tell everyone that first scene will begin shooting in 30 minutes. The boyfriend will go first and get me a camera!” He told his assistant.
The music video ends up as a compilation of spontaneous photographs. It begins with the boyfriend sitting on a wooden chair in an empty room. In his hands are his hat and a bunch of balloons which hides his face. Miss Singer enters and kisses him softly on the lips, the photo will emphasize on their lips.
Then they will hop into the car and go through an adventure. Photographs will only show their backs. After their adventure, they will return to the room to find a surprise party. Balloon fly, covering everyone’s faces. However, as the music comes to an end, it will reveal that the boyfriend has been sitting on the chair, dreaming. The strange thing is the white floating balloons around him.
“Were you satisfied, Miss Singer?” Mr. Director asked a week later.
“Oh, I cannot tell you what brilliant job you did. Listen, how do you feel about directing my next music video?”
Mr. Director felt like he wanted to faint. Once was enough, he thought. “I will have to get back to you on that. Talk to you soon?” He hung up and never called back.
