Coffee House Ramble

Okay, let’s picture this situation.

We are sitting in a coffee house, not Starbucks though, not that I have anything against Starbucks. Anyway, we are sitting in an one-of-a-kind coffee house, you with your fancy coffee and me with my hot cocoa or something similar, non-caffeinated.

Why are you not getting coffee? You ask.

I can’t drink coffee, I answer. I get very bad headaches and dizzy spells after drinking anything caffeinated. Sucks, huh.

Totally! You reply. So why not Starbucks?

I shrug. I don’t know, I guess I just like the atmosphere of a non-franchise, one-of-a-kind coffee house, not that I venture into coffee houses a lot.

I spent about five hours in a Starbucks once. I was bored to death and wasn’t allowed to get anything. I just sat there empty-handed while listening to a dentist talk about his grand plans to revolutionize people’s travel experience to Yellowstone National Park.

And of course, I can’t really talk about it since it’s supposed to be this big secret. Anyway, kind of began rambling there, so what would you like to talk about?

Well, what do you want to talk about? What’s been going on lately? I hear you’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo, how’s that coming along?

Not well, I tell you. I’ve been trying my best to write before bed but I just don’t do well in the dark. I can practically fall asleep in 5 minutes after I turned the light off and of course, I can’t really write with the lights on either.

Why not?

Because I am lazy! Once I hopped into bed beneath my pile of blankets, I don’t want to get out. I mean that’s why I place the rocking chair right next to me, so I can put my tablet on it.

So what’s your work-in-progress about?

Well, it’s kind of jumbled up at the moment. Like a lot of writers out there, my plots change often. Fortunately, I’ve been enjoying its evolution. Now, I just have to work out the rest of the plots.

So far, it’s a story taking place not far in the future about a courageous girl trying to figure out herself and discover herself in this crazy mixed-up world. It’s a different genre than I usually write, although, not much of a difference since it’s got a fantasy element.

So the holidays are coming up, any plans?

Nope, I have absolutely no plans. There’s not much festivities this year due to our crazy schedules. I want to put up the tree on Thanksgiving but mom declined. We’ll see though.

As for this blog, I am in the midst of finishing writing an essay I never got to finish last year. Also, I think I will redecorate this blog during the holidays. We’ll see.

Well, it’s been nice talking to you. I hope we can do it again soon.

Oh, it’ll be soon, alright. This has been so fun, I’m think of making this a weekly thing.

What do you think? Weekly Update on Monday?

    1. Why not! I’m going to do it like my imaginary friend is asking me questions but I think soon, I might begin taking questions from readers too. We’ll see but it will be a weekly feature, something to begin the week. 🙂
