Friday Fictioneers: The Gift

He steps over the charred rubble that once housed the man he despised. With every step, images flashes in his mind and with every image, the pain become sharper. It’s the consequence of his gift to witness the crime whenever he visits the crime scene. “Hey, are you okay, man?” His colleague asks. “You look like you’re in pain.”

“Yeah,” he says, “I’m just thinking, this wasn’t an ordinary fire. I think this was an explosion.”

“From what?” His colleague asks but he’s no longer listening, he’s following the black trail to the window, and down below, there he is.
