This is not a good title for this post. It’s supposed to be Top and Bottom Posts of 2016. Oh well, Top Posts sounds better.
Before we get into the Top posts, I like to share some 2016 stats:
- 531 posts published as of today
- A grand total of 1,528 posts published on this blog
- I passed the 1,500 mark earlier this month
- Saw over 45,000 views and 15,000 visitors around the world
Overall, it was a good year for this blog and I will commit myself to another year of blogging in 2017.
Throughout the 531 posts published, some got more views than others while some didn’t do so well in that categories.
Here, I will list the five posts that did very well in views:
- Essay: Difference between Introvert and Extrovert – I am quite surprised this post was the most viewed post in 2016 considering this was a school assignment and probably not my best work.
- A Quiet Thanksgiving – I am not surprised this post made it to second place, being the first entry for the Daily Post Photo Challenge for that week.
- Forest Like I’ve Never Seen it – I really like this post. I still find myself looking back it from time to time, just staring at the peaceful forest.
- Nature’s Art – A photo essay about my trip to Valley of Fire State Park last September.
- Cheating – I am surprised this post made it to top 5 but then again, I still get a comment or two about this post.
Here are the five least viewed posts of 2016:
- Share My World – 2016 Week #3 – I had to take a look at why this post was the least post of 2016 and I still don’t know. Perhaps people don’t like the art piece that looks like two fingers crossed?
- Share My World – 2016 Week #13 – I’m not sure about this post either…
- New Year Inspirational Quote #2 – Part of the 3 Day 3 Quote challenge. #1 and #3, on the other hand, did quite well with views.
- The Foreshadower Ep. #8 – The 8th and final episode of a comic series I began earlier this year. I was going to continue but apparently, Facebook bought the company and voila, no more comics. Perhaps, too intense?
- Reflection Over Coffee #17 – Another comic series from earlier this year. I discontinued the series for the same reason – Facebook bought the company. This episode was about the student body election that was going on at school.
I really enjoyed your comic pieces, and wondered why you didn’t have them any more. Maybe there is another way to do them, someday. 🙂

Thanks, I’m glad to hear that. Yeah, Facebook bought the company and decided to ruin the fun by shutting the website.

🙂 Well done, dear Yinglan!
Sometimes I wonder too, why some posts aren’t read a lot, even though I feel they are great…
And then others go super well that I thought weren’t that spectacular…
I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles 😉
Keep up the good work and HAPPY New Year 🙂

Thank you. I often wonder about that too and sometimes, I would even try to improve according to those posts.
Have a Happy New Year! 🙂

Yinglan, you are a warm and welcoming person, gracious to your readers, and sometimes rather unpredictable. It has been good reading your material. Looking forward to new things for you this year.
