100 Word Wednesday: The Warehouse

In leather jacket, tight pants, and knee-high boots, she strode into the abandoned warehouse. “I’m here,” she shouted holding up the briefcase she’s carrying. Her echo bounced like a boomerang but alas, no reply, nothing but silence. Since companies had gone bankrupt, the warehouses by the docks had been used to conduct black-market businesses.

She stood still for a moment, widening her senses to concentrate on her surroundings. Swiftly, she cocked her head at the whirling sound above. A long-range rifle was aimed at her. With clenched teeth, she muttered, “Oh, so this is how it’s going to be.”
