“Amber, what did you do?” Michael said, out of breath.
Amber grinned and muttered, “I destroyed it,” as she stared at the inferno that was once her hometown.
“Did you really have to burn the whole town?” Michael asked, “What the hell even happened?”
Amber turned and took a step forward, until she stood so close to Michael that he could feel the heat coming from her skin. “She provoked me again, Michael.” Michael knew, Amber’s mother had nagged her again. “And you know what happens when people get on my nerve.” She took a step back, “I lose control.” She returned to staring at the smoldering remains of the town, muttering beneath her breath. “All I had to do was snap my fingers.”
Michael gulped. Of all the guys at school, why did Amber had to befriend a nerd like me? He wondered and slid his glasses up the bridge of his nose. He hated keeping secrets and Amber had entrusted him with the biggest secret – Amber’s power to start fires mentally.

Oh my gosh! A horror story! 🙂 Well, Amber’s mother shouldn’t have nagged her. LOL! Great story, Yinglan!
