Friday Fictioneers: Tea Party

Heart pounding, hands clutching tight to my blouse, I followed the ladies to the garden, walking several paces behind while they chatted away about random topics.

“So is this your first tea party?” A voice appeared suddenly beside me. I nodded shyly. “Don’t worry. You’re going to have a fun time.” She smiled as I raised my brows at her. “Your hand is clutching to your shirt like your life’s depend on it.” She covered her mouth and snickered.

Immediately, I positioned my hands behind my back, attempting to hide the sweat, and I replied. “It’s my anxiety, that’s all.”
