Friday Fictioneers: After Five Years…

PHOTO PROMPT © Karen Rawson

After over five years spent trying to make her way out of the wilderness, she had surrendered just about every shred of humanity. She no longer spoke any civilized language. Her hair had become a tangle mess, her nails were long and sharp, and the only clothing remained was a pelt she had fashioned when she slayed a mountain lion during her second year marooned in this jungle.

Meanwhile, her senses had become primal and animal-like.

She can sense a presence from a mile away just like right now as she race to stop an unexpected intruder.

Each week, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields-Addicted to Purple hosts Friday Fictioneers where we’re challenged to write a piece of flash fiction in 100 words, more or less, based on the picture above.

  1. She certainly is resourceful. I wouldn’t want to be the intruder… but maybe she remembers her humanity when she sees another person.
