A class you wish you would have taken?

I wish I had taken a class in photography for one of my two fine arts electives in college. I wasn’t at all interested in photography back then because I hadn’t found the beauty in taking pictures yet. Instead, I used both of my fine arts electives in studying dramas and paintings.

Not fun.

In the drama class, I had to watch and analyze plays and movies. They were long and boring. You would think spending a semester watching movies and plays would be fun. Nope. And let’s not mention studying 20th Century paintings and sculpture. I’m just surprised I passed those.

Are you scared of heights?

Yes and no. It depends on the situation. As long as I’m standing on steady ground, there’s something for me to hold on to, and it’s not too windy, I’m okay. Not the case in the picture above though. It was very windy where I stood and I was afraid the wind might blow over the edge. Preposterous thought, right? My knees were buckling though.

Are you a good cook? If so, do you consider yourself a chef?

I’m an amateur chef at best. I can’t really make anything well unless I follow the instruction either on the box or a recipe. I finally broke out the electric griddle I got when my childhood friend moved back to California two weekends ago and made pancakes. I followed the instruction on the box mix and they came out alright. So see what I mean?

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. 

About two weeks ago, one of my short stories got chosen to be part of an anthology featuring new writers from my state. Yesterday, I was notified the book is set to be published in September and it’s available for pre-order (via this link). That definitely made me smile. The news didn’t please my mom but it doesn’t matter. We don’t talk much nowadays. I’m still irritated and frustrated at her for a lot of reasons.

Another thing that made me smile is I finally ordered an advanced camera lens kit for my camera. The kit has color filters, UV filters, camera hood, macro lens, wide-angle (fisheye) lens, telephoto lens converter, and many others. I sure hope it works for my camera. Its description says it’s for my camera model. I’m so excited that it’s arriving this weekend.

  3. Great pancakes. You must have had a good recipe. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t. I found one that works wel know, but it’s not always the case. They look delicious. My fav is with blueberries or raspberries inside 🙂

    1. Haha! Actually, I just bought a box of pancake mix and followed the instruction on the box. I think it’s just a matter of having a hot-enough griddle. I’ll have to try it with some toppings next time. 🙂

  8. Great news and congrats! Who cares what anyone says. This is your life and you need to make the best of it for you.
    Anatomy and physiology. Also business. One day I will take these classes.
