Friday Fictioneers: Anj

I don’t know her name. I call her Anj because that’s all she ever says. “Anj Anj Anj.” She’s a spirit trapped between dimensions. I want to help but she often shows up in the least-expected moments like last Saturday when I was playing a chess game with one of the old geezers at the park. I was about to make a move when Anj showed up. She attempted to move one of the geezer’s pieces. “No Anj,” I said under my breath. She moved it anyway. “I said no!” I shouted standing up. The geezer looked at me, puzzled.

  1. if the geezer saw the piece moved as if by itself then it’s proof that anj exists and not just a figment of imagination. instead of just playing pranks, she could be used to manipulate the lottery for profit. 🙂
