Friday Fictioneers: Stopping Winter

“There’s got to be a way to stop this wretched winter!” Jezebel, the eldest of the witch sisters, said, slamming shut the thick book on her lap.

“Well, there is,” Her sister, Tracy, replied, shutting her book, “but you vetoed on it.” Jezebel glared at Tracy before they both spoke, “No black magic!” Tracy sighed, “Fine, we’ll keep looking.”

Moments later, Jezebel stood up. “Maybe we should try it, anything to stop this winter.”

That night, in sub-zero temperature, the sisters donned on white shifts and held hands around the magical fire behind their home. Together, they cast winter away.
