“Welcome to the future!” A large headline flashes before me. I suppress a laugh. If this is the future, this shouldn’t be in black and white. If this is the future, computers definitely shouldn’t be this huge with fiber and wires coming out of every corner. I scoff. This isn’t the future, This is 1950.
I press the button on my palm. The video disappears immediately. What’s the point of this? I wonder. Learning about history. It’s not like we can change it. I sigh, shoving my quantum laptop in my pocket. Might as well get this history test over with.

Perhaps with a quantum computer you can change the past

I’m not sure it will. A quantum computer is just a miniature computer. The only thing that might change the past (assuming the past wants to be changed) remains a time machine.

Very clever take. The narrator seems to have a good grasp on history, I think the test will go well..

My husband took a college computer course back before 1965, when the computer fill up a whole room. They had to program something or other, and if it worked, the computer spit out punch cards. Terry got an A, but he’s had an aversion to computers ever since 🙂

I watched a few movies about that that and I still don’t get what the punch cards are for. I can see how your husband developed his aversion to computer. I would’ve gotten the same thing if I was in that computer class.

We may not change history, but learn from it by not repeating it.
