“Man-up, you’re gonna ask her out today.” He marched to the door.

“Where are you going, son?” His mother asked, “Don’t you know we’re under lockdown?”

“All right, today’s the day.” Clearing his throat, he marched to door. He opened the door. Poof! A puff of humidified-hot-air exploded in his face, spontaneously drenching him in sweats. Nope, guess not today.

December 2020

“Today is the day. I’m gonna go out into the garden, pick the prettiest rose, and surprise her.” He opened the door, only to be greeted by a foot of snow. He sighed. Guess not this year.
