I Wish the New Year Would Arrive Already!

For some reason, I am feeling very eager to have the new year come already but at the same time, I am dreading it. Did you know there’s a relationship between luck and the Chinese Zodiac?

Apparently there is though I’m still suspicious about whether or not it’s true. I still wonder whether or not if it’s just something my mom’s trying to blame for her bad luck at the beginning of this year.

She said that if the year happen to be your Chinese Zodiac year, you’re bound to be unlucky. For example, 2014’s the year of the horse and therefore, anything with the word, “马” or horse in it whether being a brand, object, or person, whatever that is will be unlucky.

Come Chinese New Year, 2015 will be the start of the Year of the Goat “羊”. I am born in the Year of the Goat and whatever this legends, suspicion, or old wives tale is, it’s making me extra nervous.

So I am crossing my fingers to hope for an uneventful new year. No chaos, no problems, just a simple life.

Happy New Year, everyone!

  1. Haha I feel the same way… I’m an hour away from New Year’s Eve and I feel a bit excited, a bit tired, a bit anxious… I can’t wait to get a good sleep and woke up 😀
Don’t worry about horoscope… Although it can be true on some basic stuff, it is you who create your happiness. And I saw a few horses this year – even tho I have seen just a few in my entire life so this has been a productive year for me as far as the horses. And they were all just fine 😉

  2. My Chinese name and my English name both start with “ma” and this was definitely a HORSE year for me both symbolically and really since for the first time ever, I was hanging around a horse EVERY day. He practically lived in my yard… Yang, however, I don’t know. I’m a Metal Rabbit year born in the hour of the Tiger (I forgot what kind of tiger). I guess we’ll find out!

  3. I was born in the year of the dog. I remember in 2006 (Year of the Dog), the first semester ran to my favor but in the remaining 6 months, I got totally unlucky. Here in the Philippines, we’re celebrating Chinese New Year as well but I believe it won’t be starting tomorrow, probably by the last week of January or the first week of February. 🙂
