A Photo a Week Challenge: Unexpected
I spent this past week traveling and on the first day of my road trip, while I was walking along the Fremont River in Capitol Reef National Park, I spotted something moving in the trees. At first glance, I thought it was an owl. I have no idea what made me think of that. I was about to point and whisper-shout, “Owl,” when I realized it was just an ordinary fatty of a squirrel.
Highway 12 Road Trip Day 1

It was such a beautiful day today. Though I’m dog-tired having driven almost 300 miles and fulfilled my 10,000 steps today, I had such a great time. It is very rare to get a quiet day without my mom and the jet noise from the air force base. It’s one of those rare days I get to just focus on nature.
Now onto Day 2…
Tuesday Photo Challenge – Sunrise
One of the things about living on the Wasatch Front is we don’t get to see sunrise here because the mountains are in the way. Continue reading “Tuesday Photo Challenge – Sunrise”

Photo of the Day!
The best travel experience I’ve had 2018 was definitely my solo trip to Capitol Reef National Park in September. Of course, the trip was awesome. It made me realize the freedom of solo travel. I didn’t have to sleep and wake on schedule. I could choose what to eat and where to dine. And I could stop at any turnout and any hiking trail. Continue reading “Photo of the Day!”

Photo of the Day!
This interesting perspective photo definitely made it into my top 5 favorite photos taken during my recent road trip. It was through this photo I finally learned what my circular polarizing lens does. Since then, I’ve been using it all the time, along with my camera hood which I would discover its usage during my trip to Bear Lake.
This photo was taken at the Petroglyphs, by the way, a wall full of carvings made by the Fremont people. Today, we call them vandalism but back then, there’s no law against vandalism.

Which Ways in Capitol Reef?
I was quite saddened when I found out Cee decided to discontinue the Which Way Challenge as it is one of my favorite photo challenges even though I haven’t participated in a few weeks. It was why I took only a few which way photos when I went on my road trip last week. Continue reading “Which Ways in Capitol Reef?”
