There are two places I have been to that it’s called Natural Bridge – one (shown in above photo) is in Yoho National Park in British Columbia, Canada and the other is in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. Both are amazing natural structures but if I have to pick a favorite, I would pick the Natural Bridge in Canada.
I briefly mentioned visiting the Natural Bridge in F for Field. I wrote that it was rainy and cold that day, the kind of weather that didn’t motivate us to want to go anywhere. However, what I didn’t mention was that the rain stopped for a brief moment while my aunt and I were at the Natural Bridge. The brief pause of rain allowed us to make our way to the other side of bridge, to get a closer shot of the Kicking Horse River as well as allowed me to capture shots of foliage and a guy photo-bombing my photo!

One of the most memorable places I visited during my road trip last year has to be hiking Valley of Five Lakes. This hiking trail is located near the town of Jasper in Alberta, Canada at the north end of Highway 93 (Icefield Parkway). My aunt and I hiked this trail on the second day of our three-day tour of Icefield Parkway. Continue reading “#AtoZChallenge 2018 – L for Lakes” →

Ever since my aunt gave me her expensive camera with tons of bells and whistles, I’ve been experimenting with the camera functions. I’m not taking many pictures these days but when I was on my road trip in May, I was experimenting. Here are some of my experimental shots.
I took this picture at Marble Canyon using the camera’s manual mode. I tried 1 second long exposure but it made everything white-ish and bright. So I just had to go with 1/20 second.
I think I like this long-exposure photo better.
I also experimented with panoramic photography and discover sunshine, wind, and movement do not make a great panorama. In the above picture, if one looks closely, you’ll see straight lines going up and down near the bottom of the picture. Those lines were caused by one of those three things.
Just a quick note: I’m going on a short day trip today and therefore, I probably will be absent from the blogging world for most of the day. So enjoy this post and leave your comments. I’ll get to them when I return. Thanks for stopping by. Continue reading “The Perfect Distraction” →
