Cee’s Black and White Challenge: Pets

DSCF1268

I don’t have any pets myself. In fact, the closest to having a pet was when my rich friend left her turtles in my care last year. Moreover, I don’t have any dogs and cats because for one, I am terrified of them, unless they’re well trained, and for another, my mom hates that after trudging in the backyard, their paws will end up on her sparkling clean floors. So no, these are not mine. They are a friend’s. I took these last Thanksgiving when we went to that friend’s house for Thanksgiving meal. At first, I was terrified of these dogs but after learning they’re old, deaf, and partially blind, I relaxed.

I began feeling sad for the scrawny dog after looking into its eyes. One of its eyes was super cloudy and grey with cataracts. It was getting to the point that it couldn’t see where it was going and its bodily functions like going to pee and poop was seizing to function. It’s truly sad and it reminds me that one day, that might be me.

  1. I remember your Thanksgiving story. Is the little one’s tongue hanging out? It’s hard to tell in the picture but it seems as though it is. I love how he/she is looking at the bigger dog. I love dogs, they can seem scary when you don’t know them, but really the majority of them are lovable and fun. They love to play, go for walks and are very loyal. I like this picture for your challenge. 🙂

    1. Yes, the little old dog’s tongue is hanging out. I think it was licking itself when I took the picture. I don’t think she’s looking at the other dog though because she’s blind but if she was, I’d imagine she’d be knee-deep in jealously at how she wished she was that young again. 😀 Thank you for reading.
