Steven throws up his hand as he sit atop the boulder, smiling at his co-worker, who he met less than a month before. Mom told me to always smile at strangers, no matter how awkward, Steven thinks as he sits back and gazes up at the sky. He’s done it. He’s conquered the rock.
“Did you get it?!” He shouts at his friend, Kevin, who’s standing some distance away with a wide-angle lens. Kevin is an experimental photographer. He’s been looking for a subject for his photography for ages and finally met Steven at work.
When Kevin pitched the idea to Steven for his photography experiment, Steven knew exactly where they should go but when he mentioned hiking, Kevin began to object, “You know I’m not an exercise person, right?”
“Of course, and you won’t have to do any of it.” Steven placed a hand on Kevin’s shoulder. “All you need to do is make sure you get the shots.”
“Kev, did you get the pictures?” Steven shouts again. His voice echoes in the empty space.
Quickly scroll through the shots, Kevin smiles before shouting, “Yes!”

Whew! I thought for a second one of the guys fell off the mountain/rock and was knocked out or worse! 🙂
