I just got back from the orthodontist. It was a last minute squeeze-in appointment after the bracket they installed broke while eating some lettuce. It drove me insane for the entire weekend. I couldn’t eat anything like I always do without worrying the broken bracket might come off if I chewed too quickly.
Anyway, my mom insisted to come along to talk some sense into the orthodontist to not do any surgeries and that it’s time to remove the braces. Oh yeah, I have like 15 impacted teeth because of my condition, you can read about it in the updated About Me page. For the past three years, me and my orthodontist have been battling back and forth with my insurance company trying to get them to pay for my surgeries but no luck.
I want to keep trying but sadly, my time has ran out. My insurance coverage will end in August and then if it happens then, I will have to pay for it all out of my pocket and I don’t have that kind of money. On the other hand, I’ve also been discussing with my orthodontist to get him to waive those surgeries. Well, it’s kind of an one-sided discussion since he always walks off before I can finish the sentence.
So today, my mom cornered him right before he entered the office. I sat there with jaw slightly dropped. I was like, let the guy go into the office first. It work though. Now, not only do I not have to get surgeries but I am getting my braces off by the end of this summer!
I have been waiting for that day to come for the past four years. It’s like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Woo Hoo! No more braces!
