So yesterday, I took my first solo trip (first time without mom by my side) and I must say, it feels different. There is a degree of freedom I’ve never thought I’d feel.
Anyway, since I’m in a hurry, I have to get ready to go to Millennium Park, I’ll say more later but for now, I’d like to show some pictures from my plane ride yesterday. The plane was smaller than I’ve expected but I survived. From the sky, Chicago looked surprising different. From the ground, Chicago felt more autumn than Salt Lake City.
The above picture is Salt Lake City and below is Chicago. You tell me, doesn’t it look prettier?

Both are great photos, but I agree that Chicago looks much prettier – and much more like autumn.

I am actually surprised by how many trees there are in this big city!

Trees make such a difference to any town or city. They not only look wonderful and green, but they attract so many birds and other small creatures that live in them. 🙂

I had never thought of Chicago as having so many trees. How can the wind be so bad there with all these trees for protection?

These trees don’t protect against the wind. It’s windy because of the lake and there’s no mountain to protect against the wind. I agree with it being the windy city but in the two days I’ve been there, the wind doesn’t look that bad but I can imagine it being chill to the bone in December and January.

I went to the Millennium Park when I went to Chicago way back in 2006. I only styed a few days in Chicago and regret not spending more time there, though I was fortunate in that my hotel was right next to Buddy Guy’s Blues club.
