Good Sunday morning! Thank you for joining me for another edition of #weekendcoffeeshare. Come on in and enjoy a cup of coffee with me.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had a painful and dreary week. I got hurt multiple times this week but I didn’t do it on purpose.
Once was opening a manila envelope at work. I got a paper cut on my pinkie that still stings every time I run water over it.
Then I got a long thin cut along my arm picking raspberries in my backyard. Those thorns can really get ya.
Finally, something stung my ankle while I was trimming my zucchini and caused my ankle to swell. I could barely put any weight on my left side on Friday. The swelling went down a little bit on Saturday after I put an ice bag on it on Friday night.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I finished writing another speech for Toastmaster (a public speaking club) and I’m set to give the speech next weekend. I will post the speech on here next weekend.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I went to a girls’ night with some of my church’s friends last night. My mom tried to talk me out of going but I went anyway. It was very fun and I managed to buy myself a birthday present.
Did I mention my birthday is one week from this Monday?
It was a get-together event to shop for jewelry. I never had any jewelry before because when you live with someone like my mother, you’re not really allowed to have anything. But I’m turning 27, okay? So I think I deserve to have one piece of jewelry. I feel like my mom will be angry when my present gets here.
I bought myself a ring. I’ve always wanted to wear a ring. I don’t know why.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I took another trip yesterday. This time, the destination was Silver Lake. It was absolutely breathtaking and I saw some very pretty fall colors as I drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon. I was going to hike up to Twin Lakes Reservoir but my swollen ankle wouldn’t let me. I still got some pictures of the stunning trees with yellow leaves though.
If we were having coffee, I would thank you for joining me this week and hopefully, I will be back this weekend.

Haha coffee and nature. Sounds like fun

Hi Ying Lan. I’m sorry to hear that you became the target of some stinging critter. Have you ever tried Benadryl for the swelling? I did not know until really recently that it can really help things like bee stings because the reaction is very much like an allergic reaction. Anyway – I’m glad you got yourself that ring. Simple things like this can be such a joy and i wish you plenty of it. Happy Birthday lady.

I have tried Benadryl and sadly, that did not work for me. The only thing that seemed to work is an ice bag. I think I might be allergic to some kind of insect because the same thing happened to me in China. At first, I wondered if I’m allergic to the mosquitoes in China but now, I think I’m allergic to multiple species of bugs or insects because there are no mosquitoes here in Utah.
I’m glad I got that ring too. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by and for the birthday wish. 🙂

Early happy birthday. Looks like fall is arriving in the mountains. I hope no more injuries this week coming up!

Thank you. It sure does fall has already arrived in the mountains, though it has not yet arrived in my backyard. In fact, the fruits and vegetables are thriving. They must be confused. 😀
