He couldn’t believe this. Who does she think I am? A child? He mentally seethed as he plopped down on the sidewalk with his skateboard and a bunch of balloons tied to his wrist. He wished to rid the release the balloons from his custody but it would take a pair of scissors or a knife to free himself of the string. Part of him wanted to pop the damn balloons but he’s always been afraid of the loud pop.
Who does she think I am? He thought again. I want to hang out. That doesn’t mean I need a bunch of balloons. He sighed and muttered, “I look like a damn fool,” before standing up, “I better get home before someone sees me with these.”

Oops! He is in a quandary! Thanks Yinglan for joining in this week with this lovely story.

I think he’ll be over the fling pretty soon.

What a cute story! It is the perfect example of a teen – part child, part adult, but mostly child.

Thank you. I agree, it’s mostly child. I watch a lot of TV and see girls do this to boys in a lot of shows. I think girls just think it’s a cute gesture or something.

It’s funny what both girls and boys do to be cute when they are young.

Amusing and relatable! I love how the character’s annoyance and embarrassment shine through. The image of him sitting on the sidewalk with a skateboard and balloons is quite vivid! Well-written and entertaining!
