Sayonara January 2025!

I don’t usually do a goodbye month post but I feel January has overstayed its welcome.

Do you feel the same as me about January?

Maybe it’s the cold weather but January was probably the most monotonous I’ve felt in a long time. November wasn’t as monotonous with Thanksgiving. December had Christmas and a long holiday break. January had nothing. It had to be the longest month of the year.

I’m quite looking forward to tomorrow – the start of a month. I’m looking forward to the warm weather, which we will have next week. I’m looking forward to putting my vegetable seedlings in real soil and not the coconut coir stuff, which, by the way, is somehow stunting my seedling. I think it’s the salt since I thought coconut coir has salt and my tap water has salt. I never seen it happen before but then I wasn’t using a water softener early last year.

I think I mentioned once on this blog that February is my least favorite month of the year but this year, I feel like there’s more to look forward to in February than before. Maybe January will now be my least favorite month of the year.

  1. I love January but then I live on the southern hemisphere. It is hot then it rains then there’s thunderstorms and then it’s hot again. Just come over to Australia next January and kick away your winter blues.
Love your stories though. Keep them coming. 🙏😊

  2. Interesting. I think you know I’m due west of you, at the high elevation lake on the other side of the basin. There’s hardly any snow here this year… usually at least several feet by now. And it rained up to 8,000-feet today. I also have a tradition of watching the sun rise on January 1st from the other side of the lake (some of my header photos). But this year, the New Year sunrise was hidden behind clouds… and it gave me an odd feeling. Agreed… it’s been a strange month.

    1. It’s the same over here. Snow has been far and few in between this year. It’s just been either gray and warmish or sunny and freezing cold. Either way, I hardly have any place to go during January.
