Happy Friday! It sure took me long enough to gather my thoughts for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge hosted by Ritva. The topic is Portraits.
Anyone who reads my blog know I don’t do portraits. It’s not because I don’t want to, it’s just I’ve never have a good model to practice. The closest thing to a portrait you will find on this blog might be of wildlife, such as this bird.
I don’t know what kind of bird this is. I saw it when I was taking a break during my day trip to Yehliu Geopark in Taiwan. This bird was chirping in the loudest manner. It annoyed me so I decided to follow it and there it was, in the tree, hopping from branch to branch.
This was one of my favorite wildlife portrait I took on this trip. I told my mom afterward, “I think animals sometimes have more emotions than humans.” I look at this bird and saw a sense of longing, do you?
I saw the cat before the bird and thought it was amazing how this stray cat managed to sneak into a place that required humans to pay an admission. Later, as we were making our way back to the bus stop, I saw the cat again, roaming one of the many back alleyways of the small fishing town.
I was in Kumamoto, Japan earlier in the week and there, I saw cherry blossoms here and there. It’s still too early for blooms. Everywhere we have been going on our trip, my mom had been wanting to take my picture. I honestly don’t know why she wants to take pictures of me. There are now so many pictures of me on my phone than I know what to do with. I think I might just use this photo as my new profile photo since it’s my favorite.

That’s the first picture I’ve seen of you! Yay! Well I have enjoyed all your stories.
Have a good journey home.

She wants to take your picture because she loves you! As for the bird, either longing or fear. Birds often seem frightened to me. Maybe the bird also saw the cat?!

I don’t like to have my photo taken. I like to be behind the camera, rather than in front. I don’t mind taking her picture if she will complain less.
