#AtoZChallenge 2025 – Shibuya Crossing

I was told by every Youtuber, “If you’re ever in Tokyo, you must visit Shibuya Crossing.”

Shibuya crossing is the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world and it’s one where traffic stops in all direction to allow pedestrians to roam the street for an alloted time. I got a chance to participate in the chaos of the crossing when I visited Japan for the first time in 2023 and let me tell you, it’s not as fun to walk among the chaos than to watch it from above.

That’s what I did. My mom and I bought a drink at the Starbucks at the crossing and went up to the second floor of the Starbucks I found a seat, and watched the action and chaos happening below.

Just as I was getting bored of watching people cross the street, in comes excitement. I later learned that near the end of every September, there’s a festival to honor the dead, like memorial day but in a much bigger scale.
