“Teri,” Greg, her supervisor, said one morning as Teri was just settling down at her desk, “I’d like you to meet Sasha, he’s from France and our newest hire.”
Next to him stood what Teri thought was the most handsome man alive with a head of messy brown hair, brown eyes, and a smile that would make any woman fall at his feet. “H-hi,” she stuttered, staring at him for a moment before clearing her throat, stood up, and held out her hand for him to shake, “welcome to the company.”
“Thank you,” he replied in a thick-accented English and shook her hand.
As their hands touched, Teri began mentally screaming, “stupid, stupid, stupid,” as she fought to restrain herself from jumping over the desk and throwing her arms around him. Their handshake over lasted a few seconds before Greg interrupted and pulled away from Teri, “Come, Sasha, let’s go introduce you to the rest of the team.”
