Please give me a sign that this will okay, please, Teri pleaded mentally as she watched the elevator ding from floor to floor until it finally reached the floor to the office. She exited the elevator and was walking toward the office when a voice called behind her, a voice she was definitely not ready to hear, not this early, “Hey Teri,” Teri turned to find her French co-worker, Sasha, had just stepped out of the elevator, “Listen…”
“I’m sorry,” Teri said, cutting him off, “I’m sorry if I seemed too forward, I did not imply the way you thought.”
“And what is it you think I thought you implied?”
Teri felt her cheeks turn red, she wondered the same thing, what did he think she had meant when she asked if he was free next weekend, she had assumed it had to be bad because he had ignored her the rest of the night, what if…
“I’m free, by the way,” Sasha interrupted her thoughts, smiling, “that is if you’re still free.”
