About three weeks after Sasha resigned from the company, Teri found herself standing in the corner of a cafe, waiting for her name to be called to pick up her lunch order. It was the first time in a long while since she’s been able to eat out, well, it was the first time in a long while since she’s had enough money in her bank account to spare. She remembered the buoyant feeling she experienced a week ago when she saw a 4-figure amount in her bank account, maybe I’m finally getting the swing of things, she thought.
Just then, out of the corner of her right eye, she saw a familiar figure heading to the order counter, Sasha? He’s supposed to be in France, isn’t he? What’s he doing in town?
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Swing”.
