What do you see #336 – Long Day Coming

Alex rolled over on her hotel bed, struggling to sleep. In a mere 12 hours, she’s slated to perform the third show of her sold out debut tour – third of however many shows her manager had arranged for her. It would be another long night and this would go on for another six months. Wide awake, she stared at the ceiling and groaned, “I miss my bed.”

After several tosses and turns, she noticed light had begun streaming in from behind the black-out curtains. Tossing the blanket and comforter aside, she got out of the bed, crossed the room, and yanked the curtains wide open.

Outside the window, she saw the city skyline of Chicago. “I’m in Chicago.” She muttered before repeating the sentence like a statement, “I’m in Chicago.”

Chicago was a place she had long wanted to visit but with the finance situation her family was in, she couldn’t phathom making such request to her family. Crossing the room again, she picked up her phone from the nightstand before heading to window again. Opening the text app, she found the last text she had sent her sister the previous night and typed, “This is for you,” before hitting send with a photo of the Willis Tower in the distance.
