Please note: this is 100% fiction!
I opened my eyes to blinding sunlight. “What in the world?” I shrieked as I shielded my eyes.
Last thing I remembered was feeling sleepy after a long shift. I tossed the book my grandmother gave me earlier that day onto the bed and fell onto the bed. Suddenly, the book flipped open by itself, and then page after page turned as if by a pair of invisible hands.
I stood up as the page-turning slowed. As I was about to lean in for a closer look at the pages, I was startled by a warble. It was coming from the orb, also gifted by my grandmother, it was glowing blue, which was something that’s never happened before. “What’s happening?” I spoke aloud.
I grabbed the orb and placed it on the bed, next to the bed. Why do I get the suspicion that these are connected? Did my grandmother wanted to tell me more about it but not with my mother in the room? Was this why she was looking at me funny?
Peering at the page, I suddenly felt a strange chill followed by a strange warmth, which felt as though I was wrapped in someone’s arm.
“So, are you telling me you landed here just like that? Through a book?”
“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”

An intriguing and spooky tale, well done.
