G was supposed to be for “Grammar” but honestly, I hate for you guys to hear me complain day after day. So G is for “Gamer” instead.
I am a gamer, okay? Not the kind that sits on the couch everyday stuffing chips in my mouth and maneuvering the joystick with another. I wish but even then, I wouldn’t be a couch potato because I would play games like Wii fits where I have to run around. Someday, I shall get a Wii of my own; when I’ve achieved freedom from my mom.

Anyway, I’m talking about playing games on my tablet, simulation games, to be exact. Sure, it sucks up my time like a sponge since everything in the game is based on real-time but I still enjoy assigning all types of time-consuming tasks and then when I go back a few hours later, I can see just collect.
Two years, around the time I started this blog, I began playing “The Sims Freeplay”, a
game that’s based on The Sims except it’s free. I like free stuff, well, who doesn’t? I played it all through 2013 and 2014. The updates became more and more interesting, the Sims went from immortal to mortal and the town grew bigger and bigger.
My aunt had caught me playing it and called the game cruel because I was getting rid of seniors who had finished their tasks and were no longer of use in the game. “It’s just a game,” I reminded her.
As the clock stroke midnight on New Year’s Eve, I suddenly lost interest in the game. The new update involved a mall and that mall was draining my “simoleons,” the currency in the game, and all of my Sims were too busy. So I quit the game, cold-turkey. I uninstalled the app from my tablet but not before I got another game, SimCity, Build It.
I had SimCity 4 before on my old computer before my cousins came and destroyed it, forcing me to wipe the computer clean and reinstall everything. The game was a pain to install the first time. So I decided to not install the second time. Still, I had a little idea of what the game was about when I installed on my tablet. It’s also a free game, by the way. I’ve been playing this game for a few months and I think I’m enjoying this game more than the other one. I like that it employs all the things I’ve learned so far in life into this one game.
First and foremost, I’m the mayor. I have to make sure my city have funds (accounting knowledge). I have to make sure my people are happy. The most integral part of the game, figuring out where everything goes – buildings, factories, shops, etc. I suppose anyone can decide on that part but I also feel like some of my civil engineering knowledge come into play in this game even though I do suck at it.
Today at work, I found myself glancing at the game once in a while, just checking in on my city, Barleycorn Point and I just glad I have the entire backroom all to myself even if it’s freezing cold.
P.S. I went with the default for my city name. I didn’t want to come up with my own and end up hating it later.

I don’t take the time to understand video or computer games so the most I ever do is play solitaire. However the games seem like they could be fun.

Sim games are awesome. Though i had a look at Sims 4 and it’s almost like The Sims is getting worse as more games come out. They keep removing items and making you pay for them. Terrible.

That is just terrible! That’s why I quit playing. Everything is money money money.
