Spare Landscapes

DSC00715

Of all the pictures I took at Antelope Island last weekend, this is by far my favorite. The landscape is so simple and bare, yet it is showing so many things. Like if you look at the sky, the storm clouds are moving in which means a storm is coming. Then if you look at the water, you’ll think that there must had been a lot rain this year. Okay, maybe if you have not visited Utah or the Great Salt Lake, you won’t think that. Anyway, it’s true. We’ve been having an annoyingly wet and cold year so far and this is the most water I have ever seen the Great Salt Lake reach.

This is my second favorite, taken just nine minutes before the first photo, you can see the dark clouds haven’t moved in yet. Still, the landscape is so bare yet serene. I can’t help think that this was a lovely getaway from the boring suburban life.
