#WeekendCoffeeShare: Road Trip Ending

If we were having coffee, I would tell you good morning and thanks for joining me for another lovely weekend chat.

I’m back in the comfort of my bedroom. Since last Friday with the exception of Sunday and Monday, I’ve driven for an average of 10 hours per day. That’s a lot of driving, in my opinion, but alas, I’m home.

So you would think, well you’re home, you must be getting all the rest you need. Nah uh, not even close. I arrived home at around 8 PM on Thursday and immediately, without offering me a break and dinner, my mom rushed me to fill up the car and return the car. Where’s my hug? Where’s the response of relief that I’ve made it home safe and sound? Can I at least sit down and stretch my legs after keeping my foot on the gas pedal for the past 6 hours because some idiot drivers decided to go ten miles below the speed limit, prohibiting me from using the cruise control?

Nope! I got screaming, “Why are you so late?” I got police-style interrogation on the ride home after dropping off the car at the rental place. “Was it your aunt?” My mom accused.

“No!” I replied. “It was the animals,” which was partially true. The bison, deer, and bears were quite active during the last few days at Yellowstone. A bear nearly caused me to pee in my pants when it sprinted across the road before my eyes.

Anyway, nope, no rest for me, not even on a Saturday. I have to take the kids downstairs to go shopping. Ugh! It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, let’s hope I can get some nice long shut-eye then.

Since I’m home, I guess it’s once again time for me to sort through my photos. During the fifteen days road trip, I took a total of more than 2,200 photos. That’s a lot of photos. So far, I’m only through to the fourth or fifth day of the trip. Here is a preview of some of the photos.

Lastly, if we were having coffee, I would thank you for joining me and hope I can join you again next weekend.

  1. Lovely. One of my bestfriend and her sister camped there a week and a bit and they loved Yellowstone as well, especially the big guisere ‘old faithful.’

  2. Glad you’re home safe.. It will be fun to go through your pics and relive everything once you’ve gotten some rest. Driving is so tiresome!
