#WeekendCoffeeShare: Something to look forward to

Good Sunday morning! Thank you for joining me. Come on in for some drinks!

If we were having drinks, I would tell you I had an exceptionally busy yet gratifying week. After the storms finally cleared up, I mowed the lawn and learned a very important lesson: don’t mow your lawn when it’s knee-high and wet. Oh my goodness, my lawn mower stopped every few minutes because wet grass kept getting clogged in the blades. It took me nearly three hours just to mow the front yard.

After over five hours and 150 gallons (5 large 30-gallon trash bags) later, I was left with grass-stained shoes and sore muscles. My muscles continued to be sore for the rest of the week.

If we were having drinks, I would tell you I also fed my lawn that same afternoon with fertilizers with stuff to prevent weeds. It’s working so far but then again, it’s only been six days.

If we were having drinks, I would tell you I had two job interviews this week and both of them seemed to had gone well. I should hear back by the end of next week. Until then, I will pray and cross my fingers.

If we were having drinks, I would tell you the next two weeks will be different and it’s been something I look forward to in a long time.

My mom is going to China tomorrow for two weeks. So for two weeks, I will be taking care of myself. The part I’m looking forward to is the cooking. I’ve bought pork chops and steaks, something I haven’t had in a long time. Well, I haven’t had steaks in months. I can’t even remember my last steak. Maybe last September or October?

I have never cooked a steak, so that should be exciting. How hard can it be?

Best of all, I will be alone and I won’t be anyone’s punching bag. I think these two weeks will be fun and free. So if you don’t see me around here, I’m out enjoying my temporary freedom.

If we were having drinks, I would tell you I’ve reached an impasse on my weight-loss journey. I am stuck, not gaining weight yet not losing weight. I think I have to exercise harder but I don’t think that’s the solution. Therefore, I have been trying intermittent fasting for the last three days – eat a full breakfast (400 calories) and then wait 8 hours before consuming the next meal (400-500 calories).

There’s no results yet because I think I am overeating on my second meal. I will have to start counting calories again to make sure I am not overeating.

Lastly, if we were having drinks, I would thank you for joining this weekend and hope to see you again next weekend. Before we part, below are the feature images for this week’s A-Z Challenge. My theme is Photo + Story, a feature photo accompanied by a story.

  1. That sounds awful about mowing your yard! 😩 Good luck on your job search! And I hope you’re able to figure out how to progress on your weight loss program!
