If you were to pack a basket for picnic lunch, what would be in your basket?
I will tell you one thing that’s not going to be in the basket – blocks of un-melted cheese and anything with onion. I am not a fan of those things. My fantasy picnics usually consist of some kind of sandwich, veggie salads, and fruit salads.
When my aunt was visiting, she loved to picnic. Each time we hiked, my aunt always made it a thing to eat at the hiking destination. It’s why she carried a large backpack each time we went hiking. During the road trip of 2017, she even managed to create an impromptu picnic at a rest area somewhere in Montana.
On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?
Um… a bed? A bathroom? A clean room?
Those, I think are the basic necessities. A clean, bug-free room is definitely very important for me so I can get a good night sleep without waking up in the middle of the night scratching my head off.
The picture on the left is the hotel room when I spent a night in Hong Kong in 2017. I took the picture from the farthest corner of the room with no zoom on my camera. It should tell you how tiny the room is.
If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?
If I ever buy another house, the top three items on my wish list would be one – a large fancy en-suite master bedroom with a walk-in closet. No more tiny bedrooms. After all, I am the master of the house.
Second thing I want is a professionally landscaped backyard with raised beds ready to be planted with vegetables, and the third and most important thing on my wish list is a fancy gourmet kitchen with an island in the middle, stainless-steel appliances, double ovens, and possibly a ranch-style kitchen sink.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
The church’s singles cookout was definitely something that made me smile this past week. I got to see my new friends and socialize a little bit. The bible study and dinner Sunday night made me smile too. The dessert is always the best part of the Sunday night dinner. The dessert this past Sunday was an apple-cranberry tart. Yum.
Hiking the Wheeler Creek Trail on Saturday was another thing that made me smile this past week. The scenery along the hike was so beautiful and calming that it made me forget I was exhausted and sweating down my back. It made me feel good like I’ve really exercised.

Good answers all. Boy, that hotel room was SMALL! That would have made me feel soooooo claustrophobic! I love all the photos you added.

Thank you. That hotel room was the smallest room I’ve ever been in. It was like sleeping in a closet.

What a lovely post. Big love of picnics here, fine hotel rooms, and homes with jetted tubs.
Thank you. All my best to you dear Yinglan.

Thank you. A jetted tub would be a wonderful thing to have in a house. 🙂

Nice. Ah, the walk-in closet. Most every women’s dream (some men too)! I hope we both get our walk-in closets some day lol.

I sure hope so too. Until then, I guess that closet will just have to remain in our dreams. 😀
