#WeekendCoffeeShare: All Caught Up

Good Sunday morning! Thank you for joining me. Come on in for some drinks.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you it’s been about two weeks since we last chatted. I had been super exhausted during those weeks, getting my shut-eye when I get a chance. Mother Nature is still bring roller-coaster weather here – turn the temperature up during the week while down on the weekends. Ugh!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I finally moved into the basement yesterday. I just couldn’t take the heat anymore. No matter how long I leave the air-conditioner on, even with the ceiling fan on high, my room is still hot while the rest of the house is cool as a cucumber.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you Friday marked my one-month anniversary at my new job. Yay! It has been super busy at work with everyone trying to get caught up before the end of the fiscal year which was yesterday. Uh oh!

Good thing I got caught up though. Whew!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I’ve been particularly busy these past two Sundays because I’ve been going to church early. I signed up for the new members class, you see. I believe it’s time for me to join. My mom wasn’t too happy about it. I don’t know why. She kept saying, “Think hard before getting baptized.”

What’s there to think about? It was my choice to go to this church. Of all the churches in my neighborhood, I chose to attend a baptist church. I believe that was fate. And the thing is: one minute she would be happy for me and the next not. So indecisive! I honestly don’t know what is there to think about – my step-dad and his family were baptized at a baptist, so was my mom. Am I supposed to be alone after I leave this earth? Family are supposed to be together, right?

If we were having coffee, I would tell you my dahlias are finally coming in. So far, three of the nine plants have flowers blooming while the remaining are still taking their time.

Finally, if we were having coffee, I would tell you I’m finally going hiking next weekend. Yay! About time.

If we were having coffee, I would thank you for joining me this week and hopefully, I will be back next weekend.

  1. Go for it. Baptism is never a wrong move. In my church we baptize tiny babies as we believe it provides them extra divine blessings as they go forward in life a and should something happen to him. That’s why it’s a sacrament. I know some churches believe in adult baptism, but really it has the same purpose for adults. It keeps one closer to God. You can not go to church frequently and still be baptized too. Good luck.

  2. Hi Yinglan, the heat there sounds crippling to me. I would have been in that basement much sooner. I applaud your choice to take that new believers class. Our church is similar to the Baptists so I’m familiar with what they will most likely be teaching and it’s good stuff. I also hope you’ll check out my coffee share for last weekend. The material I shared was very popular and uplifting. Hope to chat again next weekend.
    Stay cool.
