Tell us about your first bicycle or car?

My first bicycle was a four-wheeler – two wheels plus two training wheels – and I still couldn’t go in a straight line. I’ve always thought it was my poor hand-eye coordination but over the weekend, as I read the memoir of Jess Oppenheimer, the creator of the show, I Love Lucy, I learned Jess suffered from the same condition I am – uneven vision in the eyes. Apparently, that can affect one’s ability to ride a bike.

As for my first car, I’ve written a few posts about that old piece of clunker – 1995 Ford Escort – which I finally sold almost four years ago after growing tired of dumping so much money into useless repairs. However, it wasn’t a bad car. It simply didn’t fulfill my purpose anymore which was when I needed to get on the highway.

What fictional world or place would you like to visit?

This may sound strange but I want to visit the Salt Lake City in the Christmas made-for-TV movies. It looks so much different from reality, I don’t know why.

A few weeks ago, during one of my afternoon walks, I almost stumbled onto a movie set. I didn’t even know someone was holding a high-tech handle camera filming. It was during my second lap around the block that I saw they were filming a couple fake-arguing. I began to wonder if they were making one of those made-for-TV Christmas movies since a lot of Christmas movies are filmed in the area.

With that said, I want to visit that Salt Lake City where the vibe is so much different than reality.

If you could have someone follow you around all the time, like a personal assistant, what would you have them do?

Record my every move? Action? Words? Nah, that’d be so weird and creepy. But then, having someone follow me around is weird and creepy. Hmm… I don’t know what I’d have them do, probably think of some kind of project.

I finally got caught up at work. So I was super happy about that. Adding on to that, what made me smile even more was that I was the only one up-to-date.

What also made me smile was my shopping trip to the thrift store. I walked in there and saw the books on the shelf. My eyes grew wide there for a minute. I felt like I’ve entered a book-lover’s paradise. In the end, after careful selection, I managed to get 15 books (fiction of course) for $12.50. These books will keep me occupied for a while.
