Every year, right about the week of Thanksgiving, I will begin to reflect upon the year – travels, hiking, adventures, accomplishments, etc. Therefore, from now until the end of 2018, I will be reflecting upon 2018 adventures in Photo of the Day. Hope you enjoy.
To kick things off, how about a trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats? According to the date in my archive, this was taken on January 7, 2018.
For those who don’t know, Bonneville Salt Flats is located near Wendover, Utah, and the Utah-Nevada border. It was part of Lake Bonneville many many many years ago but now, Lake Bonneville has dried up and it’s now called Great Salt Lake.
That white stuff on the ground? That’s not snow, it’s salt.
What do people do here? They take their fancy cars and race.
Lastly, what can I say about this place other than anyone should visit this amazing natural wonder when given the chance.

This reminds me of Death Valley, where in certain areas you constantly have to argue with your brain over whether it is snow or not. Great pic!
