Share Your World – Week of December 21, 2020

What is your favorite type of cookie (they’re called biscuits in Europe I believe)?

There are two kinds of cookies I love – the soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies and the cakey cookies. My favorites are snickerdoodle and my homemade chocolate chip cookies especially if they’re still warm.

Why did I stop making them? I should make some. Mmm…

If you could choose one age and remain that forever, what would it be and why?

I would pick 27. First of all, 27 is over 25 which means I can rent a car and not worry about being charged more or be rejected by the car rental company. If I’m not mistaken, most car rental places require the driver been over 25 before they can rent you a car.

Secondly, according to a radio station I listen to, 27 is a person’s happiest age. I was skeptical at the time but it’s true. Even with Mom’s constant pestering, I was at my happiest at 27.

I was working at a job I like. There were office gathering almost once a month. There was no pandemic. We could hug each other. I didn’t have occasional hot flashes, weird mood swing, and problems with my blood.

So there, the pros outweigh the cons. Age 27 is the age I want to stuck in.

Do you have a traditional drink during the holiday season?

My traditional drink during the holiday season is and always has been Hot Cocoa though I should try Egg Nog once to see why egg yolks with milk are considered a holiday drink.

Are you able to still believe in holiday magic as you did when you were a child?

I don’t think I ever believed in holiday magic. I didn’t celebrate Christmas in the traditional sense until I was 10 and even then, I wasn’t wild like some kids where they would stay up on Christmas Eve to wait for Santa Claus to drop them a gift. I think I mostly believed (still believe) in the magic of hope. I think there’s magic in that and the best part is it will ever run out unless you stop believing.

  1. Thank you Yinglan for Sharing Your World! I just baked some fresh Toll House cookies yesterday and exchanged a few with a neighbor! She was very excited and said she could smell them, as they were hot out of the oven. Warm chocolate chip cookies are GREAT! I love hot cocoa in this season, and egg nog? I’d recommend getting a very small container to try. Some folks love it (my dad really loved it), but others aren’t so impressed. I am not a huge fan, I prefer cocoa. Let me know what you think of it! I think if you have the magic of hope in your heart, then you have the magic of Christmas. That’s truly what the Christmas spirit is, in my opinion. Happiest of Holidays!

    • Your warm cookies’ got me drooling. 🤤😄. It sounds like just the treat on these dreary cold winter days.
Do grocery stores sell small containers of egg nog? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. I’ve only seen the ones in the tall containers. I’ll have to look when I go grocery shopping next time.
Thank you for hosting this delightful challenge. Merry Christmas🎄.
