Share Your World – Week of March 29, 2021

What is knowledge?

Knowledge, according to me, is a collection of the stuff we learn throughout our lives.

“Hey, Google, what is knowledge?”

Knowledge is “facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.”

Close enough.

How do you define consciousness (self awareness)?

According to me, consciousness is the dull part of our brain because that’s when we’re aware of reality which is sometimes painful and sometimes dull.

According to Google, consciousness is defined as the state of being awake and aware of one’s surroundings.

Like I said, dull. Being unconscious mean we get to dream about impossible stuff.

Is it possible to prove that other people besides yourself have consciousness?

I think it is and I think the way to do that is to tell a lengthy story and then ask the other person a bunch of questions about the story. If the person is conscious and actively listening, then that person should have no problem answering the questions.

Would you be able to tell if time had been altered in some way?

My phone will probably display the correct time but will my body (circadian rhythm) know? I think it will know but it’ll adapt soon enough.

Do you like potato chips (they’re called ‘crisps’ in Europe I believe)?

Do I like potato chips? That is like asking a child if he or she likes candy. Though I am very particular (kettle-fried vs baked vs regular) when it comes to potato chips, I love them all.
