Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #152: Shades and Shadows

This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #152, Leya has challenged everyone with the topic of Shades and Shadows.

Often, when I go on a hiking, especially on a hot sunny day, I always look for shady places to stay cool and those shady places most often have water like this photo. The cool breeze and the sound of water can energize anyone.

I love playing with Lightroom and photos especially with its highlights and shadows. Sometimes, I take a photo not because I love the landscape but because I want to make the photo into something else, something I’ve envisioned. I shot this photo last September and it’s becoming one of my favorites after decreasing the highlights and shadows on the image and playing with the dials on each color to make it pop.

    1. It’s great that you’re able to do that. That must feel so good. I got my shoes wet on my hike yesterday and the water was so chillingly cold so I don’t think it would be a good idea for me to do that here. 😀

    1. Thank you. It’s actually part of a river but because of drought this year, there is less water than usual. Usually, at this time of the year, the water would be torrential.
