A Photo a Week Challenge: Unedited

View from motel in Torrey, Utah

I often take photos on my phone just for the ease of sharing, so I don’t have to lug my laptop on every trip, look for a power outlet, shove the SD card into its slot, and wait for it to load every RAW file I took that day. Editing will always be needed for RAW files because, well, they are RAW. The colors are dull and the picture is lacking in so many aspects.

I can use some editing on this picture. It feels a little too underexposed but still, I like it. I like these wide angle shots my phone is able to capture. It’s definitely one of the perks of taking pictures with my phone. It has a wider lens than the camera.

Just like the first photo, I don’t think this one needs any editing and it’s definitely another perk of phone photography. My car was parked on the other side of the road at the time and I was about to cross the road when these guys wheezed by. With my camera, I would’ve had to take the lens-cap off, focus the lens, and shoot but with my phone, all I needed was press a button.

  1. With enhancements in smartphone cameras in the newer models, they are gaining fast over the DSLR cameras. I also have a smartphone and I use it for photography the whole time. Editing captures is also easy on them, though it is of very basic level.
Lovely captures you have shared 🙂
