Is there inherent order in nature or is it all chaos and chance?
I believe there are both inherent order and chaos and chance. I think most of the time, humans tend to do things by trial and error – I know I do. On the other hand, nature will always find a way to right itself because that’s how everything was created.

What is infinity?
Math-wise, it’s an irrational number. There’s a decimal – to its left is a number whether it be zero or a million, and to the right of the decimal point is a bunch of numbers that goes on and on.

Does observation alter an event?
Yes but it depends. For example, if you see someone getting mugged on the street and you go help stop the mugging, you have just altered an event.
Do you like balloons?
Not really, maybe it’s because I’m a sentimental person. If I have a balloon, I would hold it very tight because if I accidentally let go of the rope holding the balloon, I would feel a sense of lost.

I feel the same about balloons. I used to be so attached to inanimate objects and I would be so sad when my balloons were deflate or fly away.

Do you still feel attached? I was hoping that feeling would fade as I get older but if anything, it’s become amplified.

Actually, I seem to have done a 180 on all attachments. I can’t seem to muster up any attachment to any inanimate object. I was so focused on anthropomorphic attributes of inanimate objects (like an umbrella blowing away in the wind) when I was young that it consumed me. My mother would have to slap me out of hysteria if a lawn chair toppled over in a storm. I thankfully seem to have grown out of it.

I’m glad you grew out of it. I hope it’s something that will fade with age.

Thank you Yinglan for Sharing Your World! What wonderful answers to the ‘serious’ questions! Very concise and easy to understand those concepts! Great job! As to the balloon question, I agree. It is very sad when that little piece of joy disappears, but for the time we have it, we can enjoy it at least. A bit of simple beauty for a while. I hope your 4th was happy and that you have a wonderful week!

Thank you. Those “serious” questions sure took some thinking. It was a nice reprieve from work though. 🙂 Have a wonderful week to you as well.

If I like a balloon well enough to want it, hold it, I don’t want it to pop. Deeper sense of loss than you speak of.

I completely forgot about that but personally, I would had experienced the same level of loss.

Nature has it’s own rhythm – we need to enter it’s rhythm
Infinity – unlimited extent of time – sounds nice – 😉
