#SundayStills – My Thoughts on #Pets

I don’t have any pets myself thanks to my mom and her never-ending list of allergies. Real or not, I’m still trying to figure out myself as she recently told me my plants gave her shingles.

Therefore, I’m sticking to other people’s pets for this week’s topic.

In my opinion, I think having an animal companion is much better than a human companion. I hear, especially dogs, are loyal and don’t forget, they can be cute as a button. I’m a dog person. I find cats too… squirmy. They don’t like to be hold, at least for me.

I envy people with pets sometimes because they don’t have a companion that screams and shouts over no reason at all. They also don’t over-react over some stupid mistake. We are human, we make mistakes, one silly mistake isn’t the end of the world.

This is why I wish I have a pet, that, and – especially dogs – are fiercely protective. I’ve seen it in my neighbor’s dogs. Their protectiveness even scares me sometimes when I’m doing gardening chores in my backyard. They look like they’re about to jump over and attack me.

  1. Aww, what lovely shots of neighbors’ pets, Yinglan! You can feel the love coming from the images. I’m sorry your mom is so allergic. My mom loved her collies and was a wildlife duck rescuer before she had to move into the nursing home. BTW, plants don’t cause shingles, LOL, only a virus does that. Have a great week and thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you.
Yes, I do know what causes shingles. I researched it online and informed my mom. Unfortunately, she didn’t believe me and blamed me and my plants for lowering her immune system. *sigh*

  2. Shingles comes from having had Chickenpox. We have ads here talking about it all the time. Extremely painful. I have had shingles and they said that being stressed or gaving a low immune system can set it off.
