Shit, shit, shit, the words play on repeat in Charlie as he witnesses the horror that is happening in front of his eyes – Abby, on a gurney, not moving. Uh, gotta tell somebody.
Just when Charlie thought his heart can’t thrum fast enough, “Boo!” He almost let out a screech, which might had revealed his hiding spot to the guys wheeling an unconscious Abby somewhere Charlie has no interest of imagining.
Hand clutching his chest, he turns to find none other than Daphne Waters standing not one foot behind him, a devious grin on her face. “F*** you for scaring me like that.” Charlie says.
He now remembers Daphne. She’s changed a lot since the elementary school days, he thinks, but then, doesn’t everyone change a lot over time? Daphne was smoking hot, even before she became a brat.
He heard her mother did something to her, sent her to a beauty camp or fat camp or something. Whatever her mother did to her, she succeeded because Daphne became the most popular girl at that school. Charlie couldn’t take his eyes off of her and he thought about her everyday until they graduated elementary schools and went separate ways.
“What in hell are you staring at?” Daphne’s voice jolts Charlie from his thought. He is staring at her chest, at slightly exposed chest as dirty thoughts begin to conjure in his head.
He shakes his head and clears his throat, attempting to wipe the thoughts from his mind. “We must warn the others. I just saw Abby get taken away on a stretcher.”
“Which way did they went?”
He groans, “I don’t know. Thanks to your little stunt, I was too focused to not scream instead of catching the whole thing.”
Moments later, Charlie and Daphne locate Beth and Ethan near rooms 24 and 25. “Hey, found anything?” Charlie asks.
“Nothing, all the doors are locked.” Ethan replies.
“I think Abby might had found something in room 10.”
“Why’d you say that?”
“Because I saw her get pushed out of the room on a gurney by a couple of guys in suits.” Charlie half-shrieks.
“D-do you know w-where they took her?” Beth asks in a shaky voice. She liked Abby, at least Abby was nice to her, unlike Daphne.
Charlie shakes his head, “I don’t. I was playing hide when little miss here scared me half-way to hell.”
Daphne guffaws, “Oh pa-lease.”
“Either way, we need to get out of here quick before we have an Abby situation ourselves.”
