My summer flowers are finally beginning to bloom and I cannot be more excited. I’m going to have salvia blooming, veronica (speedwell) blooming, bachelor buttons, asters, mums, sunflowers, and so many others. My hard work in the last few months has at last come to fruition and I am looking forward to the display of colors in the upcoming weeks and months.
Above are my Kilimanjaro (white African) marigold on the left and catmint on the right. I love that shade of soft purple. Purples and violets are featured predominantly in my perennial flower garden as all shades of purple is my favorite color. So I try to mix it up with some different color annuals like marigolds, sunflowers, and zinnias.
Below is a close up of a nearly spent marigold flower in my vegetable bed, where I hope will help me lure and keep the bugs away from my veggies as well as attract lots of pollinators.

You have beautiful flowers! I’ll try to post some pics too.
