Friday Fictioneers: Life of a Working Mom

Please Note: this is 100% fiction.

Never in my life did I think I would have to enter the workforce again. We were doing okay with just hubby’s paycheck but as baby Jenny grew up and began demanding toys, the cost added up and, well, okay became not okay. I started job hunting just as COVID began and was lucky and got hired on as a remote employee.

As a result, I had to convert Jenny’s nursery-slash-playroom into an office. On a typical workday, I have next to no workspace and often found myself backing into Jenny’s toys. Ugh, ’tis the life of a working mom.

  1. It might be fiction but it’s reality for my daughter. She hasn’t even got a desk – her laptop, printer and paperwork are on the table in the living room!

    1. 😢 That reminds me of the days when my mom and I lived in an apartment and she was a teacher. It was before the days school became electronic. Paper would be strewn everywhere from the dining table to the floor.
